Dino is a small duck. He loves the grass, but he does not love the pond.
His brothers jump into the water with a splash. Dino stays on the bank.
A frog sits in the shallow water. "Start here," says the frog. "It is only a little deep."
The frog is kind and patient. Dino puts one foot in. Then another.
The water is cold, but it holds him. Dino laughs. He has courage after all.
His mother smiles. "Tomorrow," she says, "we will swim to the other side."
A thought to keep
A small first step can lead to a big splash.
